Essentially when someone prays the commitment prayer through, a spiritual transaction takes place, that person comes out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light Acts26v18. There are only two spiritual camps, the kingdom of darkness is controlled by the devil and the Kingdom of Light by God. The two kingdoms are not equal and neither are those who are at the head. We are told in the bible that the devil was originally created by God as one of the principle angels which beheld the face of God and who ministered before God. The devil's name was Lucifer which means son of the morning. In the beginning he was created perfect until the day that iniquity was found in him. It seems that his great beauty and the desire to be as God got the better of him. He lead a rebellion and possibly managed to pervert one third of the Kingdom of Heaven to breaking away from God and forming their own Kingdom with the devil at its head . At some point there was a war in heaven as a result and the devil and his angels were thrown out of Heaven. The rebellion also involved the earth and man. The devil managed through his cunning to deceive man into wanting to be like God knowing the difference between good and evil. This act of disobedience and rebellion to God’s direct instructions caused a separation between God and man and became the first sin, which caused enormous changes in the destiny of the human race. So the rebellion that began in the heart of Lucifer infected Heaven and the earth. All humanity has been stained with sin, we are therefore born into the kingdom of darkness.
God, if He wanted us back had to do something about the situation, and He did want to redeem the situation that the devil had caused. God had a plan from the very beginning of how He was going to redeem man from the situation that we had fallen into. This plan involved God Himself coming in the person of His Son Jesus Christ. God created the earth, Heaven, the angels, Lucifer and us and it had gone wrong, but God, because He is God and knows both the end from the beginning knew this. Why then did He allow it all to go bad, why ever create the devil in the first place? I believe that God wanted us all to have the right to self determination including the angels. We as human beings treasure our freewill. God it seems although all powerful, will not overrule our right to have freewill, the right of self-determination. I believe that God did not want to create us as human units programmed to obey His will. This is why the devil was allowed to rebel and why the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was created. It seems that humanity has been eating of that tree ever since. We all have our own ideas of what is right and wrong. So what is God’s plan in all this? (4) Related scriptures.
The bible tells us that God is seeking those who will worship Him in spirit and truth, and for them to be His people and for Him to be their God. In the commitment prayer sin is dealt with through our repentance, repentance means that we disown our sin, we recognizes it for what it is, and ask the Lord Jesus to forgive us by His blood shed at Calvary. Asking Jesus to come into your life and heart as Lord and Saviour means that you have agreed to give the sovereignty of your life to God. This restores the relationship that went so wrong in the beginning. Once our sin has been dealt with through our faith in what Jesus had done for us on the cross the way is opened up for us to have an intimate relationship with God. The bible tells us that it has not entered the heart and mind of man the things that God has planned for those who love him and are called according to His purposes. Jesus has promised to never to leave you or forsake you. He has also promised that anyone who comes to Him will in no way be cast out.
God has some incredible plans for His people throughout eternity but we must press on and complete the life that we have been given with our faith in Christ intact. Jesus will not leave us, but we must not leave Him. In our walk with the Lord I would like to be able to say that it is a bed of roses and plain sailing all the way. It is sometimes. but other times we are called to take up our cross and follow Jesus. At these times it is hard and some give up. We will have storms in our lives just like anyone else, but when they do come we face the storms hand in hand with Jesus. Sometimes Jesus does a miracle and we praise Him for that, other times He brings healing and we praise Him for that too, but sometimes we go through the fire and the storm, but Jesus is in the storm with us and strengthens us or carries us if we are too weak to walk.
