Having prayed through the commitment prayer it is necessary to be baptised just as Jesus was.  If being baptised by being totally immersed was good enough for Jesus, it is good enough for you and me.  So find a Church that is prepared to baptise you into Christ on the confession of your faith. Some Churches will want to not only baptise you into Christ, but also into their Church which is fine if you are happy to be a member and settle there.  You cannot be a secret Christian, it is by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that you are saved.  So you will be asked to tell the Christian community who are present your testimony (your story of how you came to faith in Jesus Christ.)(Romans 10v9 to 11).  It is good where possible to invite friends and family to come to the baptismal service as a witness to them of your decision to become a Christian. Doctrine is only formed when it is in line with the broad sweep of scriptures.

Spiritual principles can be formed from one or more scriptures, but all the while needs to be in line with doctrine or to other scriptures directly or closely related to the subject matter.
